I've been reading a few blogs about sprucing up your place for Spring. Cleaning up and organizing, removing the winter stuff and getting ready for all things Spring.

So I decided I needed to fluff up our nest a bit. And it felt great!

Here's what the table looked like before:

It's actually a flat full size sheet! Why had I never thought about this before? I love it!
I found this at the thrift store for $1 sometime last summer! IT's been sitting in the craft room with no purpose, until yesterday.
It has brightened up the kitchen significantly!

This sweet little mason jar with candle and ribbon is from my Aunt Robin. She had these on the tables at our wedding celebration she hosted. Makes me heart happy to see that on my table and remember that wonderful weekend.


Hopefully soon we will have some of these on the table.

What are you doing to get ready for Spring?

Found @ The Mercy Mall

This past Saturday, the hubby and I had the opportunity to serve at our church's Mercy Mall.

Basically it's a pumped up food pantry. It has clothes, shoes, toiletries, kitchen goods, lots of food, some baby supplies and lots more. It's mainly on donations, but the church does purchase some things they know are needed.
It's a place for people in the community who are struggling or going thru a rough time to come in and get what they need.

While we were there, someone dropped off several bags of donations.

Our church is also on the list to send people if there home or belongings have been destroyed by a fire or tornado, etc. Because when you have nothing, a place like this is a true beacon of light.
It's an intimidating experience for some to come to a place like this. Because they might feel like they have failed or pride gets in the way. These are tough times for people. Lots of people.
This wasn't like going to the downtown of a metropolitan area and handing out brown bag lunches to the homeless. This was serving people in this town. The town we live and work in.

Brand New Church knows people.
When I say that I mean they know how to love people. They know how people hurt and when they are down and out they need to be lifted up and brought back around.
We've all been there at some point. Maybe not to the extent of needing food or clothing, but everyone needs a boost.
The Mercy Mall is a judgement free zone.

Teddy and I helped carry in all the bags and started sorting them.
A few people came in. Some of the other volunteers got their information, showed them what we had and helped them get what they need. It's such a basic concept, but it meant the world to these people.

It was a true blessing to be a part of this. And in the future we hope to help out as much as we can. Right now their busting at the seems and are building on. How awesome is that?!

This was posted near the coffee pots at church. And as I was preparing the coffee to share with other volunteers, I thought how true this needs to be in my life. I need to be serving these people, my work, my marriage as if I was serving The Lord.

Dear God,
Help me to remember your love ALWAYS. I need to focus all my energies on that. Let me find the ways to spread your love to others who need it most. Thank you for leading us to Brand New Church.

Virtual Coffee

Happy Tuesday!
I'm back again for Virtual Coffee with Amy.

Not a whole lot of important things to report on my end. How is your week going so far? Still early, I know. Do you count down until Friday like me? Well this week the hubby goes back to 4 ten hour days, so he comes home Thursday nights starting this week! Woohoo!

I started my morning with devotions. I wish I could say I do this every morning, but sometimes I forget. More often than I would like to admit really. I need to make it habit to fill my spiritual tank in the mornings, because I need all the help I can get thru the day.

If you came over for coffee, I might ask you to paint my toe nails..... ok maybe not. It's going to be in the 70's today and yesterday I told myself I needed to get my feet sandal ready, well really I need to prepare from the knee down if you know what I mean. But I didn't get to that, so socks and regular shoes for me today.

I would also invite you to our church. It's called Brand New Church . We love it so much. It really speaks to us. Every message I have heard from the pastor is wonderful. We've been going there a little over 2 months now and we are so blessed to have found such a great church. There are so many areas to serve and so many friendly people. This past Sunday we were invited to the pastor's house after lunch. They try to rotate and have people over from church on a regular basis. That way nobody feels left out. How awesome is that? Since we are fairly new to the church, there are lots of people we haven't met yet, but everyone was so kind and eager to get to know us.

I told you that I would tell you more about the Mercy Mall today- but it's going to have to wait until tomorrow :) There's so much to say.

Here's a random tidbit, yesterday I was digging in my purse and discovered that everything was wet. Keys, wallet, gum. Not soaking wet, just damp. But still. Eeeeew. As I did some more digging I found that my bottle of Aleve had opened up and all the pills were floating around in the bottom of the purse along with loose change, a pen that disassembled and a few bobby pins. So there went those. Then I realized that some cough drops and gum had gotten stuck with no return to the sides and bottom of the purse. So I had to dump it. I salvaged what wasn't worth saving and dumped the whole thing.
I hate having to do that to a purse I like.
But then I remembered it's just a bag. Something I carry around my junk/baggage in. It usually weighs too much and most of the stuff in it doesn't get used often anyway.
And I realized how true those thoughts are about my life. I carry around extra baggage/junk that has no purpose. Old mistakes or memories that I can't seem to let go of. Guilt and doubt, grief and heartache. Those are with me everyday in some form whether I have invited them or not. And it's so silly really.
Because I gave my heart to God a long time ago. He forgave me of it all. He doesn't want me to carry that with me everyday. He wants me to prosper and succeed. And you too. The Devil loves getting ahold of us like that. He's a jerk like that. And I'm done letting him push me around, because this girl is stronger than that. I just have to let her out.

That was a little more than coffee today. But I needed to share.

I need a peppy start to the week, what better way than this song by Mandisa. Makes me want to move!

How was your weekend?
Ours was pretty good. Maybe a little too busy, but busy in a good way I suppose.

Here is a quick summary of our weekend in a few pics.

Blue Machine all natural juice by Naked. The people at Naked don't know me. This isn't an advertisement for them, we just like it :) Makes us feel good not to put any extra added junk in our bodies. Just the fruity goodness!

Had a quick breakfast date on the square in Mountain Home with this guy before we had to be at The Mercy Mall on Saturday. I will post more about that experience soon.

On our breakfast date we also shared a piece of vinegar pie. Say what!? Yes, vinegar pie. It's TO DIE FOR!

Cuddled up with my homelife magazine and a quilt Saturday night. So nice.

This little snuggly beagle was with me too. I can't get enough of that face!

Wakey Wakey, it's time for eggs and bakey! Haha! We were running late for church Sunday morning, so I whipped up some breakfast sandwiches to bring in the car. I think I could eat bacon for every meal. Really. I love it that much.

On that note. I'm going to not eat meat this week and cut out dairy.
 At the beginning of the year our church did a fast. A David like fast. Some of you know about that I'm sure. We refrained from eating processed foods, meats, coffee,soda dairy etc. All fruits and veggies and whole grains.But they did allow tofu and soy or almond milk.
 I lost 10 pounds that week and my face cleared up significantly. Why I didn't stick with that is beyond me.
The main reason I give up easily on other "diets" is because it feels to restrictive for me or like I'm suffering. I need to find something that can work for me day in and day out. I could really care less about meat. I prefer dishes without meat actually.
 Does that mean I will never eat a hamburger or have a steak again? No. But for the most part I want to eat healthy. And cut out the junk.

I seriously love this song. A lot. I have a thing for songs with whistling. Because I'm a little nutty I suppose.

The Band name is kind of weird. And if you see pictures of the actual band, well, you'll see.

Anyways, I think this song would be best sung while driving the highway with the windows down at the top of your lungs, hair blowing, big sunglasses and maybe a Sonic Drink.

It's that kind of good.

And for me, I'm not always good at remembering the words. So I kind of make up some of them along the way.

This weekend is BUSY for the Jeter's. Birthday dinner, volunteering at church for at the Mercy Mall, a fishermen's breakfast for the hubby, a trip to the Farmer's Market, church on Sunday. And who knows what else!

I cleaned the house a couple of nights ago. It was so refreshing and nice to go into the weekend with a CLEAN house. I crammed crazy cleaning skills into 3 hours. Even Charlie got a bath. He was stinky and needed it. So then of course I washed all his blankets and our bedding too. Because if you have a clean dog, that sometimes sleeps with you (ok mostly all the time!) then you sheets and quilts should be clean too. And because I was on a roll, I woke up early on Thursday and washed and hung my quilts on the line to dry while I was at work. And when I came home, they smelled HEAVENLY!

Boy does that make me want a cupcake something fierce! This is currently on my fridge because I think the verse is sweet. But the pic makes me want to eat it. Hmmm.

Do you see my kitchen sink? And how there are NO dirty dishes in there? Enter Hallelujah chorus. Having a clean kitchen, makes this girl REALLY happy.

Our onion sets are coming up in the background. This wheel barrow has hauled a LOT of stuff for my hubby. It's kind of a beast. In a good way.

Saw this at TJ Max this week. I should have bought it. Maybe I will go back and get it.

I'm filling up my Netflix que with musicals lately and plan to watch them during the week when Tedward is at work. This week, Music Man I don't think he's feeling the musicals. Last week I was watching Hello Dolly and he sort of rolled his eyes and left the room. Bless his heart. Now if it would have been Swamp People, he would have sat down and stayed awhile. I do love that boy.

Charlie perches on the back of this couch and watches everything go by. And he doesn't BARK. Thank you Jesus for a dog that doesn't bark at EVERYTHING. If you have one of those dogs, I'm sorry. Although he does wine when the neighbor dog Sheba come sniffing around. The neighbor boy who is around 4 told me that they are boyfriend and girlfriend. So cute.

My new gardening gloves. Heavy Duty. Although really, I prefer to get my hands dirty. Even though I can stand the sight of dirty under my fingernails- anybody with me on that? I threw the measuring tape in there for good measure. Haha. Good measure.

I love that coffee picture. I really do.
This plant was itty bitty when my mom gave it to me, and now it's like a mini tree in the kitchen!

For most of you that know me outside of this blog, you will know how this picture touches my heart. For those of you that don't- I have wanted a vintage VW BUG since before I could drive. I have seen Herbie the Love Bug somewhere near one zillion times. I have serious Love Bug love. Go ahead, say it. Love Bug love. Feels good doesn't it?
